THE DEPOT—CONNECTING CULTURE AND CURIOSITY

SUMMARY—
Duluth Union Depot was a bustling train hub that first opened its doors back in 1892. Now known as The Saint Louis County Depot, the building is an historical landmark, community center and cornerstone of several cultural organizations which entertain, educate and inspire.

The Depot management approached Graphic Science to revitalize the brand and marketing strategies, and to breathe new life into the visual identity. The primary graphic element of the identity became a whimsical dashed line inspired by train tracks and the architectural detailing around the building's windows. The new color palette references the building's iconic roof and clay tile floors, while a blend of old and new type choices create energy and contrast.
